Introduction

Hello, My name is Tricia Switzer and I am a Junior Special Education major at University of Southern Mississippi. I have been married to my husband, Chuck, for almost 19 years. We have a 17 year old daughter, Jordan, and a 15 year old son, Jansen. Both attend Pass Christian High School. I was very lucky to be able to be a stay at home mom with them for many years. I started working part time in 2006 in real estate. It has been a great part time career since I could work around their schedules. Prior to having children I worked at as a substitute teacher and teacher's assistant. In 2011 I decided to go back to college and I finally completed my Associate's Degree in December 2013 from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. I decided to major in Special Education K-12 since there is an increased need for teachers in this field. I really enjoy helping others and this is a very broad career with many opportunities available. I am also pursuing endorsements in Social Studies and Science. I am so excited to finally take classes that will actually apply to my new career. Technology is fascinating so I am really looking forward to this course.

Here is a picture Jordan & Jansen this summer when we were in Texas with the Pass Pirate Baseball Team.
